Dig Deep

For some reason, I was sitting here on the couch and got a sudden urge to write out some feelings. So, here they are, edited or not:
Funny… how people seem to think that the most unhappy people are the happiest. I don’t know if anyone can really explain why those troubled souls try to make their lives look so perfect. I suppose they’re scared most of the time – worried someone is going to reveal their secrets. Nobody doubts that they’re glamour queens with amazing backgrounds. Nobody stops to realize where the rare bad mood might be coming from. Nobody even gives them a seconds thought while on their knees, praying for the people who they actually know have troubles.
Certain people just don’t realize that others have horrors of their own. That’s why this world needs to turn around and face the hidden truths. That’s why the people need to open their eyes and see. Even if it’s one at a time, they need to look deep into the reality. What’s really behind every comment or heated word of a stranger? Because really, until we know and help each other, that’s all we are… strangers.
Think of the bully… you know who I mean. He or she is as big a jerk as possible. But, have you ever asked yourself why? Do you know that they have a good family? That they aren’t being beaten for every wrong choice? Are they really as awful as they seem? Or just insecure?
Now, what about that popular kid: the one who seems to have everything. The cheerleader or jock in High School who has the best friends, and the ultimate boyfriend or girlfriend that everyone wishes for. What do you think their life is really like? Maybe their parents are planning a divorce, or maybe one of their siblings is suicidal. Maybe even they are questioning the rightfulness of their own lives.
Dig deep… you’ve heard the stories. Some people just wither away without a single human being realizing what’s going on. Some die young, possibly of their own accord. Others live painful and lonely lives until they become that grumpy man across the street, or the old lady with a million cats in symbolism of the friends she could have. Think about it.
Would you want that to be you? Would you want that to be your classmate fifty years from now? Do you hear what I’m saying? Pay attention to what’s going on around you! Those people are children of God, too. Those people have sad and sorry lives and they’re not stepping up to the plate, but instead being pushed farther and farther down.
We, as fellow human beings, can lift a hand to help another. Even for a few seconds, it really does count. That’s why I’m challenging each and every one of you to step out of your comfort zone and be a friend to those people, because you never know what a blessing you might be to them. Sometimes someone just needs a smile – don’t be afraid to give it. I know you can. Give that compliment that you’re dying to let free.
When you help another human being, God is there with you to guide your words and actions… if you listen. One day, you may just be the angel someone’s been asking for.

- I’m not quite sure where all that came from, but I just thought I’d share. Make it a good day everyone. God loves you. <3

Let the fire of God’s love burn within you as you go about your day.
