Look to the Stars

Every night, the stars slowly appear. One by one, little by little, until they cover the sky. Some of us wait for them eagerly, or take drives to more open areas where they may be seen clearly. For me, sometimes the trees cover them. For others, city lights may hide them without consideration. But when we see them, in their beautiful entirety ... you can't deny that they're breathtaking.

Gaining wisdom, knowledge, understanding ... all of those can be compared to the stars. They don't come all at once. They aren't lightning that comes with a shocking appearance ...

... although, sometimes, lightning does strike.

We aren't meant to know all things at once, and that's okay. This life is for learning, for growing, for discovering. And most of all, for becoming. We are here to become better. And as we glimpse each new star, we can go a bit further. Each star is sufficient for the needs of that moment, and then we move on to the next, until we reach the full view. It's beautiful, really. Our Father has planned everything so perfectly. Even when we're falling, even when we're sure we need it all - right now, we can keep going if we get just a little more.

That's what I tell myself every day. Just a little more. One more minute, one more hour. It's just like hurdling. You don't look at the hurdle you're in front of. You look at the one after that, and you somehow make it over the current obstacle. Why? Because you keep going. Because you believe in yourself enough to not question your abilities. You have faith, and know that you'll clear the hurdle you face, so you focus on what's ahead in hope and preparation.

We all have trials. We all have weaknesses. We all have days when we want to disappear. But oh, my friends ... look to the stars. Just look to the stars. And remember that God Almighty created all of them, and everything in this universe. Marvel at that, and then also remember that He created you. You have nothing to fear with such a force behind you.
