E is for Easter
General Conference has been so amazing! I don't want it to end. But of course, I never do. The speakers that hit me the most today were Holland and Uchtdorf. No surprise there. :)
For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, my church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - AKA Mormons) has a conference every six months that's held in Salt Lake City, and broadcasted all over the world. In this conference, church leaders give inspired talks to help us in living the gospel and dealing with our crazy world. It's amazing, and my favorite time of year. This weekend is the 185th General Conference. Pretty awesome, huh?
Anyway, Elder Holland told a story about two brothers who went rock climbing without equipment. The story ended with one brother saving the other brother's life, by not leaving when he told him to and instead pulling him up to safety. Elder Holland related this to Jesus Christ and how He's there to save us. He talked about the transgressions of Adam and Eve and how the Savior saved us from death, and how Easter is the day that changed the world. I'm so very grateful that that day happened! And I'm immensely grateful for my Heavenly Father's plan of happiness, which makes it possible to return to live with Him, and to have true joy. Today is the day to celebrate that, and I intend to! After I take a short nap. ;) Then I'll be able to hear this last session of Conference. I invite all of you to visit LDS.org and stream the session (At 2PM Mountain Time), or find it on the Church's YouTube channel. It's always so worth it!
Happy Easter, everyone!!

Ahh!! As a person who spends a lot of time in the mountains, that story freaks me out a little - ALWAYS bring proper gear, and usually bring a little more than you need, just in case! Sounds like it was a good allegory though!
