Quiet Time

Q is for Quiet Time

I have a terrible habit of staying up late after stressful days, because I like the calm and quiet. When everyone else is asleep, I can let my mind truly wander and be where it needs to be. Rarely, I catch those moments in daylight too, and it's amazing. I'm not completely introverted, but I love my quiet time, and I think it's something important for all of us to have - especially when it comes to listening to the Spirit. When we tune out the world and all the madness, it's so much easier to hear promptings and communicate with God. I pray in lots of places, but my favorite is an empty room, where I can talk out loud and mean every word.

Getting quiet time is hard. And even when I'm alone, I've found that quiet time means turning my phone face-down and ignoring the rest of the world. Distractions make my brain antsy, and when I get some space, I can settle. It's an awesome feeling.

To put it simply: I'm a strong believer in taking time out to recover from hard days, to connect with God, and to simply relax. It helps. Really. :)

Happy A-Zing, everyone!
