A Full Heart

Empty

This post is sort of a sequel to my advice on Negative Space (So forgive me if I repeat myself). Pictured above is an empty heart, vulnerable and open to both good and bad. It's a void that needs to be filled. And I know that heart has belonged to all of us at one time or another. Death, heartbreak, disappointment, failure, any kind of loss ... it creates a void. And sometimes, the void is simply there, regardless of the cause. For some, it eats them alive. For others, it becomes a place to bury all of their sorrows and fears, locking it all away. But hiding those things doesn't eliminate them - even if you think it does.

It's nature that when there's a void, it must be filled. If the darkness sees the opportunity, it'll jump right in, leaving no room for good. If you choose to add to that void with negative energy, the result is the same. Good can't get in, because you won't let it.

It's your responsibility to take care of your heart :) If you have a void, fill it with good. Fill it with light. Through the scriptures, through prayer, through time with good people. Often, addictions of any kind form because of voids in the heart - a need for love, for acceptance, and - especially - self-acceptance. Don't let the dark crawl into your void. If it already has, release it. It really can be that simple. Take a look at what you're holding in. If you've been holding it for a long time, that might prove pretty difficult, but with God anything is possible. Fill yourself with good energy. Surround yourself with bright, uplifting believers. And lose yourself in serving the Lord and those around you.

Love you all! And remember - love your fellow men. What goes around comes around. :)
